Titre | AdBlock Plus is trying to dredge the US media |
|
||
Description | The founders of AdBlock Plus, adblocker most popular in the world, organize an event next November 3 in New York and will invite between 15 and 20 media owners to discuss their acceptable advertising program. The event, dubbed internally #CampDavid reveals Adweek, should allow the US to convince the German media world of the merits of its process whitelist certified letting adverts and enabled by default. The condition is of course to remit to AdBlock Plus some of the money recovered through the white list: 30%, according to our information. Google, Amazon, eBay and Microsoft were among the first to give to get whitelister. Taboola and Outbrain content recommendation engines are also passed to the fund in the last few months. Still, the bosses will not have AdBlock Plus the easy part deal with US publishers. No media has indeed sold to date, what some would call racketeering. The CEO of Digital Content Next, Institute defending the interests of media companies, illustrates this mistrust. Recipient of an invitation, he announced that he would decline it and criticized groups that agree to donate a commission. "If he was 100% clear on the subject, I would take seriously these reports EYEO [of AdBlock Plus publisher, ed] on its business model and its concern about the user experience. If AdBlock Plus agreed to officially say what companies pay and under what conditions, my confidence would increase drastically. I present myself even at their meeting ". |
